Conference Coup

With just over 120 days to go for the Annual Bathroom Conference plans are well advanced and the BMA is now “absolutely thrilled” to announce that it has secured the services of Sue Nelson
to act as both facilitator for the entire event and also to present the important key note speech.

“This is something of a coup for us,” says Yvonne Orgill, CEO of the Keele University-based BMA. “Sue is extremely busy in her business life as science writer and broadcaster and we feel very lucky to have her agree to spend so much time with us at the conference. She will be a valuable addition to this year’s line-up.”

Described as “one of Radio 4’s best science presenters” by The Sunday Times, her programmes - from Frontiers and Discovery to Material World - have covered everything from biofuels to dark matter. Her credentials are spot on for this year’s conference which has the environment at its core.

As former BBC science and environment correspondent, Sue produces the popular Planet Earth podcast for the Natural Environment Research Council and is Editor of The Biologist. She will know that the areas of the UK, indeed Europe are under severe water stress and drought conditions are looming in many parts.  Her knowledge of the subject will enhance the busy conference programme which looks into the part which the bathroom industry can play in reducing the UK’s water consumption and improving the sustainability of our homes.
