The UK Government’s Environment Agency and Waterwise UK Water Efficiency Awards 2014 is the most high profile awards scheme in the UK to recognise the water efficiency achievements of the public, private and third sector organisations who promote water efficiency. The award was given in the Campaigns & Education category.
The European Water Label, which was developed by the BMA and is entirely voluntary can now be seen on bathroom and kitchen products across 32 countries in Europe.
It is supported by 68 major bathroom brands with over 6500 products listed in its on-line database. Water Label is also supported by the major builders merchants and retailers, the media, Water Utilities and over 1000 national stockists.
“Needless to say we are absolutely delighted, thrilled to bits in fact,” says Yvonne Orgill, Chief Executive of the Bathroom Manufacturers Association. “It’s taken a number of years of hard work and determination by many people, particularly the staff of the BMA, to get The Water Label to this level of success and it’s wonderful to be given the recognition for it.”
The European Water Label and its accompanying Water Calculator is used by architects and specifiers and the preferred source of information for identifying water usage characteristics of water using products.
