The NHIC chooses best Home Improvement Journalist

The NHIC, National Home Improvement Council, recently held its annual awards ceremony in London and the Bathroom Manufacturers Association was delighted to sponsor one of the categories.
The BMA itself is an award winning trade association and knows only too well the value of award schemes such as this.

“Winning an award is a fabulous pat on the back,” says Yvonne Orgill, BMA Chief, “and its recognition that you are doing something right.  It’s a great morale booster. Loosing is terribly disappointing but it maybe, just maybe, the much-needed shot in the arm which leads you on to even greater things.”

For the 2014 NHIC awards, now in their 37th year, the BMA sponsored the Home Improvement Journalist of the Year  This category looked for the journalist who had shown the most consistent, sustained and enthusiastic support for sustainable home improvements, particularly in the bathroom. The winning journalist needed to prove that he or she has shown this support with innovative, original and attractive copy which engages and inspires the reader, whether a seasoned professional or a casual consumer reader.

The shortlist gave the judges something of a headache and choosing the winner proved extremely difficult. But the NHIC judging team selected Philippa Turrell, Editor of K&B News at Hamerville Magazines Ltd. Many congratulations to Philippa!

Worthy runner up was Chris Jones of Chris Jones, Editor, PHAM News
