Our Water Efficient Product Labelling Scheme (WEPLS) has received rave reviews from all sectors of the bathroom industry. The newly designed labels, which are similar to the energy labels used on white goods, show at a glance the water-efficiency credentials of bathroom products and will be a boon to both householders and professionals alike. The scheme now has seven product categories listed in the online database and the website is easier than ever to navigate. Around 1000 water efficient products are searchable in the web lists. Bathroom stockists and retailers can register their showrooms with the scheme for free so that potential bathroom buyers can easily find their local bathroom specialist. Jacob Tompkins at Waterwise, (a UK NGO focused on decreasing water consumption in the UK ) is a keen supporter of WEPLS and Katherine Rathouse, a social researcher who works with DEFRA and several UK Water Companies, describes herself as a ‘big fan’ and thinks that the scheme will go a long way in raising awareness of the need for water efficiency.
