Well its over for another year and all the staff at the BMA are getting their breath back after a hectic few days at our Bathroom Conference. To be honest we are feeling rather proud of this year’s event. Best ever! It went entirely to plan and the arrangements were spot on. We had a record number of delegates for both days and the atmosphere throughout was warm, friendly and very positive.
The bathroom industry certainly enjoyed a successful business event - technical and marketing seminars, BMA General Council Meeting, Golf Tournament, trade exhibition, networking dinner on the first night (sold out), gala black tie dinner on the second night (sold out), entertainment, awards, and of course the conference presentations from ten excellent speakers. The keynote speaker, Larry Hochman (former European Business Speaker of the Year) lived up to expectations with a riveting hour long speech which was both thought provoking and inspiring ( and in the words of one journalist it ‘scared’ him!)
Talking about journalists we noticed that there was at least two in the main hall (laid out cabaret style this year) who were blogging and tweeting as it was all happening. We don’t think we have had that before but we like it – and as Hochman pointed out we will see more of this type of communication in the future. There’s no hiding place and bathroom manufacturers need to be aware of what is being said about them on the web.
Arrangements are already in hand for next year’s Bathroom Conference and we can’t wait! Make a note in your diaries – 17 and 18 October 2011. And the theme? IS GREEN THE ONLY COLOUR?
